Bleh, I have a question for whoever's reading.

I could use some advice on methods of how to keep yourself from eating.  Willpower works most of the time but what else can you do?  I know a few tricks, like drinking 1L of water, a can of diet pop, chewing gum, and brushing teeth, but what do you do when that fails too?

http://health.yahoo.com/experts/eatthis/16232/worst-healthy-drinksand-what-you-should-drink-instead/

this community has been "dead" for awhile so now you get to hear me bitch and complain about calories, but also will post things that are actually healthy for you(also, if you are really craving something, get a single serving of it because you're going to end up binging if you denay yourself--but don't do this all the time of course! calories add up quickly)
Obesity is a major problem in America and I'm sure other countries as well. I will do a longer calorie rant once I pull research from commonly places people eat, but saw this on yahoo and couldn't resist.

as they say on the biggest loser, in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in!
The yo-yo dieting isn't good--just look at all the diet fabs Oprah has tried and she keeps gaining and losing weight. It's simple, do what I said above, know that not everyone needs 2,000 calories a day(depends on your built and how active you are) and true weight loss takes dedication. It's not a diet, it's a life style change and if you have a family, remember you should be teaching your kids healthy eating habits(don't use the word diet though because when a kid hears that they think fat and some eating disorders are started that way. So if you do it as a family, have healthy foods in your house instead of junk food, take bike rides, find healthy recipes, it will become normal for all of you. Also, check serving sizes. A 20oz of soda has 2.5 servings and most don't have the total amount of calories in it(some products are now featuring what one serving is and than the entire calories in the package)

I take my own advice to extremes(hence the anorexia) but it's sadden me to see so many people overweight, knowing the health issues that can come from it(and yes, I know they come from eating disorders as well!) Education is key.

Worst 'Healthy' Drinks - And What You Should Drink Instead
Staying hydrated can be great for your body. Drink enough of the right liquids and your mood will improve, your focus will sharpen, your heart will beat stronger, and you’ll be less likely to suffer from headaches and fatigue. All that, plus if you pick the right potions, you’ll receive beneficial nutrients, antioxidants and protein as a chaser.

Bottoms up, right? Not so fast. Some bottles are better than others, as you’re about to learn. Too many Americans are problem drinkers — and I’m not talking about bourbon for breakfast. As a nation, we love high-sugar, high-calorie drinks like sodas and smoothies; a whopping 21 percent of American’s calorie intake comes from drinks, and that’s an increase of 150 calories since 1977. The big-bottom line: Half of that caloric payload comes from sweetened beverages such as soft drinks, fruit punch, and other sweet drinks.

The sad part is: Nobody actually needs any of those calories. Water — by the glass and in the foods you eat — should be plenty to top your tank. But if you find it kind of bland, we hear you. That’s why we’re slapping warning labels on the big-calorie guzzlers, and pointing you toward the thirst-quenchers that won’t make you fat.

Cheers.

Iced Coffee

Drink This
Dunkin’ Donuts Caramel Crème Iced Latte (16 oz)
260 calories
9 g fat
40 g sugars

Not That
Starbucks 2% Iced Dulce de Leche Latte (16 oz)
420 calories
16 g fat
52 g sugars

In the hierarchy of espresso drinks, lattes sit squarely at the bottom. That's because they're more milk than java, and are susceptible to huge pumps of sugar syrup from eager-to-please baristas. A macchiato gives the same caffeine kick for a tiny fraction of the caloric cost by swapping out the excess steamed milk for a crown of frothed milk. It's a simple but meaningful switch for caffeine junkies looking for a healthier fix. For other easy foods swaps for effortless weight loss — without ever having to diet again — try these fabulous fifteen.

Protein Shakes

Drink This
Slim Fast High Protein Extra Creamy Strawberry (11.5 oz can)
190 calories
5g fat
13 g sugars

Not That!
Boost Plus High Protein Strawberry (8 oz bottle)
240 calories
6 g fat
16 g sugars

Besides having fewer calories and sugar than the smaller Boost shake, the Slim Fast drink also has more protein and five extra grams of fiber, which means it will work harder at keeping your belly full in the hours after you sip it.

Yogurt Smoothie

Drink This
Dannon Light & Fit Strawberry Banana Smoothie
70 calories
12 g sugars

Not That!
Stonyfield Farm Organic Wild Berry Smoothie
150 calories
25 g sugars

The Stonyfield smoothie is smaller but more than doubles up on the calories and sugar in the Dannon Light. Don't be fooled by the "organic" name — this yogurt smoothie is thick with added sugars, which spikes your blood sugar and tells your body to start storing fat — not the best way to start your day.

The Dannon Light shake jumpstarts your morning metabolism with a nice protein kick, but spares you the sickly Stonyfield sweetness. Watch out wherever, whenever for added sugars by avoiding this great list of the most sugar-packed foods in America!

Functional Beverage

Drink This
Dasani Plus Orange Tangerine Vitamin Enhanced Water (20-oz bottle)
0 calories
0 g sugars

Not That!
Snapple Agave Melon Antioxidant Water (20-oz bottle)
140 calories
33 g sugars

If you were fooled by the words “agave” and “antioxidant,” don’t be embarrassed — for a product that’s supposedly water, it’s totally shocking how many calories and grams of sugar are packed into this fraudulent “health” beverage. But that doesn’t mean you should run the other way when you see an enhanced water; in fact, adding a little flavor (such as the orange tangerine in the Dasani water) can make staying hydrated easier and more pleasant — without adding calories or sugar.

Bottled Beverage

Drink This
Sobe Lean Blackberry Currant (20-oz bottle)
15 calories
2 g sugars

Not That!
Sobe Lizard Lava (20-oz bottle)
310 calories
77 g sugars

To glance at these two mysterious containers, you might think they contained exactly the same liquid — they’re both pink, they both come in a chunky glass bottle, they’ve both got some kind of creature on the label — but once you take a closer look at the nutrition facts, an entirely different story becomes clear. The Lizard Lava bottle contains about half a meal’s worth of calories and as much sugar as 11 popsicles.

That doesn’t exactly spell refreshment, does it? Instead try the other pink bottle, with Sobe’s Lean Blackberry Currant. With only 15 calories and 2 grams of sugar in a bottle, it just goes to show you that you can’t judge a drink by its bottle. In fact, make sure you’re always on the lookout for things like these sneaky "health" foods that aren’t! You’ll be shocked.

Energy Drink

Drink This
Monster Lo-Ball Java Monster Coffee + Energy (16-oz can)
100 calories
8 g sugars

Not That!
Rockstar Original (16-oz can)
280 calories
62 g sugars

adding that you can get energy drinks that are 0-10 calories per serving

I’ll put it all out on the table here: I’m not a big fan of energy drinks. It’s much healthier to boost energy by exercising, eating healthy foods, and getting enough sleep. But let’s face it — sometimes you’re desperate for a pick-me-up, and it’s easy to reach for one of those shiny cans of liquid fuel.

However, if you guzzle down a can of Rockstar Original, I’m pretty sure you’re just going to end up with a jittery buzz instead of the boost you’re seeking — with 62 grams of sugars, you’re looking at a major sugar crash not too far down the road. Better to stick with a low-sugar, low-calorie option like Java Monster Coffee + Energy.

Juice Imposter

Drink This
Fuze Slenderize Strawberry Melon (18.5-oz bottle)
23 calories
4.5 g sugars

Not That!
Arizona Kiwi Strawberry (23.5-oz can)
360 calories
84 g sugars

Unfortunately, most of the drinks that come in flashy containers and purport themselves to be juice quite simply aren’t. That goes for both our “Drink This” and our “Not That” option here — even the healthier Fuze drink is only about 5 percent juice. That said, it’s also a low-carb, low-sugar drink that provides nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins, so it’s not all bad — unlike Arizona’s “juice.” Bottom line: These days, if you want juice, you probably need to squeeze it yourself.

Kids' Juice

Drink This
Minute Maid Kids Multi-Vitamin Orange Juice
120 calories
24 g sugars

Not That!
Welch's Grape Juice
170 calories
40 g sugars

Kids love grape juice for one reason: It's loaded with sugar. That also means it's loaded with calories. Grape just ain’t so great. On the other extreme, Minute Maid’s enhanced orange juice is mother nature's multi-vitamin, providing your kids with monster doses of calcium and vitamin D for bone growth and protection, plus a host of powerful antioxidants. To make the best choices for your kids when eating out, check out this great comprehensive listing of the Best and Worst Restaurants for Kids!

Kids’ Drink

Drink This
Capri Sun Tropical Fruit Roarin’ Waters (6.8-oz pouch)
35 calories
9 g sugars

Not That!
Sunny D with Calcium (8-oz serving)
140 calories
31 g sugars

If you believe the commercials, stocking your fridge with Sunny D will make you the coolest mom (or dad) in the neighborhood, and your kids will be smiling and thanking you, and you’ll be wearing a cashmere sweater, and your whole house will be bathed in soft, buttery sunlight. Right. Well, believe it or not, if you’re interested in giving your kids a fun drink that’s actually reasonably healthy, hand them one of those silver Capri Sun pouches — OK, so they’re not exactly a health drink, but they’re better than Sunny D — cashmere or no cashmere.

Put the kibosh on the cholesterol and the kilos in surplus without remedy (Part 7)

in the battle against cholesterol, I proffer to you in this part a certain quantity of menus and painlessly attainable cookery books if you have satisfactory time for the purchases, the realization of certain dishes and their tasting.
It is not each time the same: you will be someday too much busy or not at home for affair or invited with a dinner or a cocktail or at a restaurant.
The practiseonce a day will be the topic of this part: Breakfast, One week of menus, Desserts and Recipes of Christmas eve.

Breakfast:
It is the most important meal of your day. Steadly, it enables you to prevent: that sinking sensation (around 11 A.M.), taking a snack and a too nutritive for the lunch.

If you have the bad customs to start the day with a simple cup of coffee or tea swallowed while running, you really need to re-educate yourself:

Take your time: Set your waking to toll fifteen minutes earlier. Get ready a true small well-balanced meal and in agreement with your own taste. Taste it quietly.
Decrease your evening meal and make if you can a walk before going to bed. As a matter of fact, night digestion is slower and if your dinner is too copious, you will not have next morning any hunger.
Be ingenious: You again and again have to differ the composition of your breakfast. You have only one rule to respect: no fat apart from the vegetable margarine.

Use: natural bread, cereals, dairy produces with 0% fat, honey and jam with moderation, fresh fruits and fruit salads.
Also consume: the bolled ham or mountain ham but without the fat border, the fried white eggs.
Drink at will: black coffee, tea, skimmed milk and fresh fruit juice.
Definitively give up: the viennoiseries, the egg yolks, the cold cuts, the fried bacon and the milk chocolate.

Four sort of sandwiches
1. Edge of sea: a little hamburger bread, roll mops fillets, slices of onion, yoghourt with 0% fat with pepper and lemon.

2. Traditional: French loaf, white ham without the fat border, tomato slices, green salad, mustard.

3. Vegetarian: two toast sections, fried white eggs, chive, two sheets of lettuce.

4. Bar: A little bread, a slice of Parma ham, two gherkins.

One week of menus:
The recipies here are calculated for 4 people. But, you will easily fit the quantities to the number of guests.

We ask you scrupulously to respect the used ingredients and the modes of cooking. The presented menus call upon only good fats and the selected food is the least rich in cholesterol.

The used dressings will be always based on olive oil, grape pips oil, nut oil, soya oil or sunflower oil.

The dairy produces will be always with 0% fat.

Let us finally specify that the receipts are of easy realization and do not require high culinary competences. You will devote to their development only a very reasonable time.

P.S.: This menu of the week was worked out for France. Frenchmen like to eat certain foods that other countries do not want to eat. I am well placed for this. I have a French culture and I reside abroad. If for instance you do not want to eat the rabbit fricassee, you can replace this meat by another white meat with the exception of the pig. Thus be imaginative. Retain this proverb: by nature, all beats which run are thin. Thus the hare is also a lean meat.

Charcoal Grill Steaks to Mouth-watering Perfection: How to Charcoal Grill Steaks

Everyone loves a great steak. There's no doubt about that. Am I right so far? Great! Now, let's say that you are having a NASCAR party, or maybe a Texas Hold'em poker game at your house tonight. You are the host, and as the host, you have responsibilities.

You know that you love to entertain. Heck, who doesn't? Knowing that, you want to pull this shin-dig off with class, and apparent ease. You decide to go all out and buy your treasured friends fat, juicy STEAKS.

Problem: You are not the best charcoal grilling chef that the world has ever seen. As a matter of fact, Chef Ramsey would tell you to **** off! Here is your saving solution:

Tips For Charcoal Grilling Steaks to Perfection

1) Heating the grill up properly is where nearly everyone screws this up - right from the start! Do not just haphazardly pour the charcoal into the grill; you need to stack them in a pyramid fashion. Center the pyramid in the grill.

**Do not use too much lighter fluid. As a matter of fact, try using some of the chemical-free wax and sawdust lighter sticks. Lighter fluid is a petroleum-based accelerant. The fumes will soak right into those fat, juicy steaks and RUIN them!**

Light the grill. Wait fifteen minutes. You can watch the flames, but DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING at this point!

After fifteen full minutes have passed, take a set of tongs to the grill. Use them to lift off the grilling rack that is sitting on top of the charcoal pyramid.

Now, use the tongs to reorder the charcoal. That's right. Take the hottest coals from the bottom center of the pyramid and place them on the perimeter. Take the still black coals and move them to the bottom center. Place the ashed-over hot coals in such a fashion as to heat the black coals through.

Now wait fifteen more minutes. Not ten, you impatient steakmaster, fifteen.

When you go back after fifteen minutes, again take your tongs and redistribute the coals. Do this in such a fashion that you achieve a well-rounded distribution. All coals should be burning HOT now; so hot that it will burn the hair off your hand and wrist if you don't keep it moving.

Replace the grilling rack over the evenly distributed coals and again wait for just five minutes this time. This will serve to preheat the grilling rack (that's how you get those cool scorch lines that everyone loves.

2) Good steaks do not need to cook more than four to six minutes on each side, depending on the thickness. Place the steak on the screaming hot grill. Let the flames engulf the steak. That's the sizzle. If the flames get too high, have a spray bottle full of water there and SPARINGLY spray the flames to a manageable level. Flip after about four and a half minutes and repeat the process.

This should produce a delicious, mouth-watering, NASCAR-worthy, chick-impressing hunk of cattle muscle that a king would do flip-flops for! Remove that chunk of bovine and repeat the process with other steaks. Do not overload the grill. Steaks don't have to cook that long so cook multiple steaks in smaller groups. You can also adjust the cooking time for those who like their steaks more or less done. But please DO NOT overcook a delicious steak. It's a CRIME!

3) Now let the steaks sit for at least five solid minutes. They must have time to reabsorb their natural juices. Also, NEVER put a hot steak off the grill onto a cold serving dish. Warm the receiving dish first.

There you go guys. If you follow these guidelines to a tee, you will impress every single person that you ever serve. That is no joke, my friends.

Before buying a microwave cart...

Microwave carts are functional and practical pieces of kitchen furniture for keeping your microwave oven in or on, but depending on the size and style they can be a great way to solve your kitchen storage problems. There are a great deal of designs in the marketplace which will suit all needs. The taller models tend to have glass door cabinets with adjustable shelves, which are a great place to display glassware. There is a good array of beautiful natural wood microwave carts, such as maple, or a simple practical chrome and glass units. All you have to do is pick the one that suits your personal and kitchen style. There are several things that need to be taken care of before buying a microwave cart, the location of the cart and the size of the space available. The measurements that need to be taken are height, width and depth of the space, but the good thing is most microwave carts are fairly small. The other measurements that are required are for the size of your microwave oven and if you are thinking of buying a larger model in future allow space for this upgrade. If you get all this right you shouldn't have any problems getting the ideal microwave cart for your kitchen. The other thing to remember is that most carts don't come assembled and you may have this project to do yourself or may have the expense of getting somebody else to do the job for you. Carts can bulky and heavy making them difficult to transport so a delivery charge may come into the costs as well. Make sure you take all these factors into consideration as these other hidden costs can drive the price up considerably.

wine 101

I desire that the following article will help you to better understand this topic.

I am sure that there are many people who will say that they know everything there is to know about wines. Unfortunately unless you are a vino aficionado, a wine-colored grower or an proficient in wine taste you will have a very special idea of the many differences that are present in wines. This is rather OK as many of us just drink the various wines that we have without thought any further. To help us learn more about wines we can take a small tour known as wine 101.

This tour will just touch on a few ideas in wines. To get more selective information you can chitchat wineries and ask questions from their tour guides, look for the entropy that you require on the internet, read some books on wine-colored taste perception and other subjects. These are just introductions into the many differences that you will find as you sample dissimilar wines.

In wine 101 the first thing that you will have to realize is that red wines have a unlike sense of taste from white wines and you will need to preference these to learn the assorted differences. Once you have accepted this fact you will need to look for a few white wines and red wines in which to conduct your wine 101 class.

The next step in the taste of the wine 101 is to Pour some vino into a glass. Swirl the vino in the glass so that the wine and all of the substances in the wine have a chance to meld. You will need to hold the wine up to the light and see how long it takes for the leg of the vino to Pour back into the bottom of the glass. The legs of the wine will tell you about the quality of the wine.

The next phase in wine 101 is to smell the wine. Here you will need to first take a quick sniff. From this sniffle you should try and key the various flavors that may be present in the wine. Once you have distinct what these flavors might be, you should swirl the vino once more so that everything is once again good mixed together.

You must be inclined to step into the next part of wine 101. This is where you will take a small sip of the wine, hold it for a few minutes and bask all of the flavors. One more go at it
I was posting in the pro-ana community and a rant came out of me about this whole debate that I don't should go over-looked. For all my jabber and attempts at trying to explain myself and defend my idea/belief/community, I believe this here says it all better than anything else I've tried to debate with and I think it should indeed make sense. If not, feel free to hit me back with why. I'm staying calm and collected and I'm not defensive. It would be nice if people who respond would respect my thoughts and my rant --suppressing natural anger and other emotions for the sake of discussing this rationally. In speaking of who "they" are, there is no one in particular and I am not speaking in the rant specifically about this group, these people or this recent debate. I am referring to a LARGE amount of people I have talked to about pro-ana communities.

"What is with these people that despise the pro-ana community? I got into a little debate with someone today and they just could not stand the idea of us. I continually responded with comments about the first amendment, the right to free speech, the difference between advocating an illness and creating a place for ill people to meet, as well as defending any "lifestylers" on the basis that they have the right to choose ana as a lifestyle in our free country. It's not against the law. In fact, there is a law stating that no American can be force fed, ever! (This only applies to 18+ though; for minors the choice is dependent up the parent or guardian, i.e. food tubes and such). I found out that the law came about during the women's suffrage moment. The women who were picketing for the right to vote were thrown in jail. They began refusing food as a protest. They were violently tortured - metal tubes were jammed down their throats and raw eggs were dropped in through a funnel. This went on for over 90 days! Finally one of the women slipped a note to her husband as he was visiting her in the prison. He was a politician and when it all finally became public and the government learned of the situation, the current president declared in a speech to the nation that no American shall ever be force fed again. And a line was created stating that as law. Anyway, these anti-ana people can't even seem to understand that tidbit of history. It's bizarre. They seem so obsessed with us "harming" people that I don't think they even realize that millions more people die from smoking cigarettes yearly, and others from obesity caused by the fast food industry (and its disgusting chemical additives) than any NEVER-REPORTED cases of individuals dying from reading a message board about mentally ill girls and women or those with unusual lifestyles. These people are just not rational. I don't understand how they can just ignore and skip over my replies about the freedom of speech, press and publication. Granted, during this debate there were some people from other countries that I believe don't understand our freedom of speech laws because it's not so in their country, and of course their government tells its people that what it does is the absolute right way to do things. However, most everyone was American and there is no excuse for such discrimination - they claim we should be banned, outlawed and censored. I ask, would they go into a library and request that all copies of Mein Kamf be burned? No! So how could we possibly be something worse than Hitler's famed book of fascist rantings?! WE'RE NOT! - obviously. We're just a support group for people with eating disorders in which we don't advocate forcing recovery on those who don't want it. They seem to assume we teach others how to be anorexic, which is silly because I'm sure everyone here knows that you can't learn a serious illness from someone teaching you, whatever that even means. Anyway, this was totally just a rant, but let me know what you guys think about this. I'm sure you're all familiar with the people I'm talking about and have probably even interacted with them before yourselves. ANNOYING AND ILLOGICAL! AREN'T THEY?! I should copy and paste this rant and post it on the debate board - I feel like I gave a clear explanation here of the illogicity. "

The First Amendment supports pro-ana'a right to speak and publish
Above all, I would like to ask the haters of pro-ana community where their sense of free speech is. Pro-ana websites and all material with "questionable content" actually help to protect and enforce the right to freedom of speech, free forum and free press. It is one thing to disagree with a certain group, but to desire to suppress the opinions and statements of others, even if they are things like how to swindle doctors for pills or guide files on suicide or even such travesties as pedophilic literature is to reject the very freedom this country was founded upon. Also note, countries which dictate published literature and forum opinions are typically communist or fascist dictatorships. Consider countries that suppress free speech such as China, North Korea, Iran, Singapore, Pakistan or Liberia. Is suppressing opinion the foundation you support and the most optimal platform for American liberties and one's own right to the pursuit of happiness? This is the basis of the of the anti pro-ana stance and it is incredibly ignorant.

Moving on from my site posting / What is wrong with pro-ana?
We could sit here and mock my website all day, but it's rather sidetracking. ...So who thinks "pro-ana" is wrong, and why? Also, let us make it known that "pro-ana" is a reference to online media and communities that include three types of people/opinion; a) those who believe anorexia is a lifestyle, not a malady; b) those who suffer from anorexia as a malady, not a lifestyle yet refuse treatment; c) many with a neutral opinion between "a" and "b" - And finally, the inclusion of bulimics, binge&purge disorder, binge disorder, self-injurers, and eating disorders not otherwise specified. What's wrong with them having communities that aren't recovery based?

Skinny Conversations
Hi everyone!

Check out my brand new pro-ana site! There definitely aren't enough pro-ana sites out there right now, mainly due to censorship, so I decided to create a new one. It's got live chat, a message board, an LJ blogging group, information on the pro-ana movement and the red bracelet project as well as never before seen guide files on obtaining prescription weight loss drugs, "safe" foods and more content that will be added daily (in fact, there's more new content being added right now!) I'm hoping to create a pro-ana site that's got excellent and useful information you can't find anywhere else. We're all tired of seeing endless lists of the same diets plans, so we've been researching night and day to bring NEW information to the ana community. As of now there isn't a lot of traffic in our chatroom or on our board just yet, but the sooner everyone checks it out, the sooner we'll be able to have a big, distinct community of anas, mias, and ednos'. Our expert, "Ana" will be serving the community in a column giving advice, information on weight loss drugs (specialty area of knowledge), treatment and therapy, debunking myths and providing accurate and up to date nutritional information, personal recommendations and advice.  Ana is an anthropology major at *withheld for anonymity* university with an emphasis in anorectic praxis studies. We hope to be able to bring more scientific data and information to the ana community. Thanks for your time! P.S. Please send me any ideas you have or would like to see as guide files or changes on the site!

Sacrificing myself for science and data collection
Hey.

I'm a pro-ana. I'm also a cultural anthropology major with an emphasis in anorectic praxis. I understand the disorder from the patient's side and the researcher's position as well. Anyway, I'm bored and just thought I'd toss myself up to science if anyone's looking to interview. If I get more than about two or three responses however, I won't be able to serve for every needed interview on all of LJ. Goodluck to you researchers though. Have fun ethnographing!

anyone willing to talk?

My name is Gray. I am studying Pro-ED websites and those with eating disoders for a research paper I am doing in a sociology class for college. If there is anyone that would be willing to speak with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I used to have an eating disorder myself and can relate with many of you. All information would be confidental and no names would be used. Very discrete. I am not here to judge or anything, but more make sense of what these websites bring to each of you and how they help you or not. Please email me at gray16@aol.com if you would at all be willing to talk with me by phone or even by email. Thank you very much.

Gray

Men with anorexia
Today's post discusses gender roles as a risk factor for anorexia. Since anorexia is not one of my areas of expertise, I'm interested in hearing back from people who have actually experienced it. I'm especially interested in hearing from male anorexia survivors. Thanks

So, I have been inactive for a LONG time... I am looking for some very good, active, pro ana communities. Any suggestions? I've looked around a bit but all of the communities seem like you need to meet all these qualifications to join; it was never like that before. What happened?

Ok well anyway, if anyone can refer me to some good support/motivation/thinspiration, please do!!

P.S. Ages ago I was supernervosa... If anyone remembers me. =)

It offers fun sections, triggering sections, and recovery sections. I have ways to block out the triggering sections if you are in recovery. We have groups to hide the eating disorder boards, the SI boards, and both, and various other groups. Come check us out. I just opened the doors after being closed down for a few weeks due to some changes.

Here's the deal, I don't want wannabe's over there. I'll scare you straight, or at least try to. Eating disorders are not cool, not something I'll help you "catch", teach you how to become. It's a site for those already that have an eating disorder and who want to or do not want to recover.

I do not understand the debate on the whole pro ed websites, and servers deleteing them. Anyone can google "anorexia" and come up with the definition of it, or bulimia, and find out that in most cases it is self inflicted puking, like on web mb. You can find more information on ED on sites like that than you can on little sites on angelfire. In fact, you can find ever more information on ED in this community than you can on one of those sites. And also I think that people making school reports, things on tv, and ED awareness is what makes teenagers aware and gives them the idea that skipping meals or not eating, or dieting unhealthily works. I'm just saying that for example this community alone gives people more information on how to lose weight unhealthily than those pro ed sites do, so if they are going to delete those they should just filter the words anorexia, bulimia, anorexic, bulimic, eating, and disorder from the internet entirely because people get ideas from other sites besides pro ed sites.
